PRAYER vigils are now being conducted for the safety of the former president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) in Bataan who has been missing since June 20.

The Iglesia Methodista ng Pilipinas (IMP) and its some 200 congregations launched the vigils with a prayer rally in Balanga City as no good lead has surfaced by far in the disappearance of lawyer Joe Frank Zuñiga, 54, the national president of the conference of lay leaders of IMP.

This developed as Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to join the search and investigations as requested by Zuñiga’s wife Charito.

Zuñiga went missing on June 20 after a meeting with Tim Desmond, general manager of Ocean Adventure in the Subic Bay Freeport.

His red Honda Civic with plate no. RJJ 593 was found abandoned at Bgy. Carael, Botolan, Zambales a day after his disappearance with his belongings intact.
